The Orne holds its best routes in the Suisse Normande. Saint-Philbert-sur-Orne and Ménil-Hubert-sur-Orne frame the Roche d'Oëtre, a hundred-and-twenty-metre escarpment above the Rouvre gorges — the most spectacular viewpoint in Normandy.

Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei, at the other end of the department, opens onto the Alpes Mancelles: the Sarthe cuts down between sandstone slopes, and the village has drawn painters and writers since the 19th century.
