Everything follows the Rance here. Dinan overlooks the valley from its ramparts and viaduct, with a port below linked to the town by the Rue du Jerzual, cobbled and steep.

Léhon, Saint-Samson-sur-Rance and La Vicomté-sur-Rance line the tidal river, between towpaths, locks and old slipways. The tide runs far inland and remakes the landscape within hours.

Évran opens onto the Ille-et-Rance canal, linking the Channel to the Atlantic: eighty-five kilometres of flat, shaded towpath, ideal for long days.
